EU is Top-Level-Domain of the European Union.

The European Union, abbreviated as EU, is an intergovernmental and supranational organization of 27 countries across the European continent. The economic and political union was established on 1 November 1993 evolving from the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) and the European Economic Community (EEC). The EU member states are as follows: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom. The European Union has 23 official languages. The euro is the official currency of the Eurozone, an economic and monetary union consisting of 17 member states.

.EU is the Top-Level-Domain of the European Union.

Any resident, company or organisation of the EU can register such a domain. It is specifically interesting for companies who have different office locations within the EU.

## Domain Restrictions
- The following categories of companies, organisations and individuals will be able to register a ._eu_ domain:
- undertakings having their registered office, central administration or principal place of business within the European Community;
- organisations established within the European Community without prejudice to the application of national law;
- natural persons resident within the European Community.
- residents of the following countries: Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein
- All others can use our trustee service.
- As there is no existing admin contact at the registry, the admin contact in our system will always be the same as the owner contact.
